Make it Easy for Your Clients!
Effective communication is crucial for success in any industry or discipline and making it easy for your clients to communicate with you is imperative!
  • Email in some instances is the only way to reach a prospect or client so it makes sense to take a look at your habits and style so as to enable a client or prospect to be able to contact you easily and quickly. Create an email signature on your email platform so that every time you reach out or respond to a message, your name, phone number and company name is clearly listed on the bottom of the email. This will make the response vehicle readily visible so when the customer wants to contact you by phone, they will not have to look up your information.(I can not tell you how many folks still do not use a signature on the bottom of their emails!)
  • When leaving your phone number on a prospect or clients voice mail, leave it slowly and don't assume that they have it memorized. This will make it easy for them to reach out to you if they have a question or need.
  • Lastly, don't direct the client to your office voice mail only then to instruct them to call you at another number which requires them to write down the additional number and make 2 phone calls. If you are successful in getting them to return your call, don't make them work to hard to reach you!

A great way to off-load some of the natural pressure you're dealing with is to engage the services of a qualified sales or corporate coach. This can lighten your load so you can focus on important selling tasks and client-related action items. Also, because many of us are working out of our homes or functioning as sole proprietors, we can often use this regular interaction to keep us on track and committed to our business success.

This kind of "teaming" can also bring two points of view into the equation when focusing on a specific problem or concern. Often, gaining a different perspective will make all the difference!
