Turning a Prospect into a Client!

Q: I’m somewhat new to sales. I’ve been able to secure many appointments with new prospects. I get an opportunity to provide pricing, but then I don’t get any farther and I can’t seem to close the sale. Can you give me some tips for turning these prospects into clients?

A: There are no secrets to closing a prospect and creating a client. You must make sure you’ve built a strong relationship first. This will help you “read” prospects in terms of timing and their desire to give you business. Many sales reps fail to ask for the order and wait for the prospect to offer business to them. We need to focus on moving the prospect along a sales cycle that starts with the introduction and ends in revenue collection. The sales cycle can vary depending on your industry, but there isn’t much difference from industry to industry. Make sure you set up the correct steps to move this target from a prospect into a client.

APALA: Print’s NEW role in integrated marketing

Date: Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Who says print is dead? Learn how interactive media and print are coming together to create new, cutting-edge integrated marketing campaigns.

Join us on March 16 as Philip Warbasse of Warbasse Design, demonstrates how 2-dimensional barcodes, commonly referred to as QR Codes, are being used to tie the “real” world (printed pieces from newspaper ads to napkins) to the “virtual” world (the Internet, a text message, a song, a video, etc.). The possibilities are endless and Philip will lead with examples of work in the entertainment and retail industries. He will also give some valuable tips for creating and managing your own 2D barcode integrated campaigns, from business cards to outdoor signage.

After this meeting, you’ll see print as a “facilitator” in integrated marketing campaigns. You’ll also be up-to-speed on the latest in 2D barcode and mobile marketing. So don’t be surprised if, by the end of the meeting, you have a few clever ideas of your own for future interactive print campaigns.

Invite your creative, interactive, marketing and account services co-workers; after all, it’s an integrated world that we now live in! Don’t miss out, as this will be our last program meeting for the season.

At this meeting, experience live examples of QR Codes (like this one) with your smartphone (iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm, etc.). Before the meeting, download a QR reader for your phone. Text apala to 368674 to receive a text message with download links.
