December Newsletter: Favorite Dish; College Degree; Secure Retirement; Fitness Goal; Family Trip to Europe; and Having a Successful Company!

Over the years, I have come across owners, sales managers, and sales representatives that do not value or understand the importance of a goal or plan. We create a goal every time we decide to do anything that is more than impulsive such as the examples listed above. These small and some larger, life changing goals ALL require a plan, some plans are a 4 year plan as in college or 10 minutes of writing down the ingredients to our favorite dish.

Focus Point # 95. Overcoming the bumps in the road.

November Newsletter: What Time Do You Open for Business?

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a high end store to purchase a product and arrived a few minutes before it opened. The store signage indicated that it opened at 11:00am and as we waited out front I noticed that there was a company meeting being conducted inside. Well, as we waited outside with a couple more customers, they continued the meeting for another 5 minutes well past the posted opening time at which point we left to purchase our item from a competitor. This has also happened to me at a large national bank where I waited at the door past their posted opening time while they conducted an internal meeting. In both instances the employees inside could readily see that there were customers waiting outside.

Focus Point #94: Knowing when to say “enough is enough.”

Focus Point #93:  Translating your passion into your occupation.

Are You Ready to Go “Back to School?” Summer is winding down and as the kids prepare to go back to school they are focused on which classes to take and how these classes fit into their goals so that they can move on to the next level or grade. Most of these goals or stages are determined by parents, administrators or other school professionals so the kids have much of there schooling journey laid out for them even though they have choices within the overall plan.
